About two decades ago the mobile workforce phenomenon started, although even before that time there have been companies where
workers didn't spend their time at the office but worked more from home. However, such jobs were more exotic than typical and they certainly didn't affect millions of people. Today, information workers are no longer constraint to the four walls of their office building. The combination of high-speed wireless networks and powerful mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets has made it possible to work from pretty much anywhere.
This trend of mobility, also known as The New World ofWork, is characterized by a great degree of flexibility of the physical workplace. Many companies have implemented this behavioral change in working and have reaped the benefits like avoiding rush hours, reducing travel time, positive environmental effects and the (cost and time) savings for the company.
